![]() (c) “License” shall include licenses, certifications or registrations required to practice a regulated profession. (b) “Lapse” when referring to licenses shall mean expire. (a) “Board” means a board, council, commission, committee, or other regulatory body with jurisdiction over professions listed in paragraph II. In this chapter, and as appropriate when used in any chapter listed in paragraph II: Except as provided in this section, the licensing and certification boards and entities organized under the office of professional licensure and certification shall exercise the powers, duties, functions, and responsibilities granted by statute. The purpose of the office of professional licensure and certification is to promote efficiency and economy in the administration of the business processing, record keeping, and other administrative and clerical operations of professional licensing and certification boards, including both professional healthcare licensing and professional technical licensing.
